On Saturday, March 18, 2006, the St. Petersburg Chapter
welcomed Julliard Organist Paul Jacobs in concert on the
Aeolian-Skinner organ at Christ United Methodist Church.
Jacobs offered a stunning performance of works of Bach,
Durufle, Widor, and Reger to a large and appreciative
audience. Thanks to all who helped to make this such a
tremendous success!
On Monday evening, October 17th, the
Chapter joined in celebrating the 40th
Anniversary of the installation of the
Austin Organ at St. Peter's Episcopal
Cathedral. Guest artist Everhard Zwart
performed on the Austin organ which
received a new console and digital
additions by Rodgers in 1997.
On Saturday, March 5, 2005, the Chapter hosted an all-Bach concert by chapter members
on the Heisler organ in the auditorium of St. Petersburg College. The event was hosted by
Paul Dixon, organ instructor at the college, and was followed by a birthday party /
reception for the master himself!
On February 7, 2005, St. Petersburg Sub-Dean Roy Roberts, a member of the National Committee on Career Support and Development, offered a presentation entitled, "The AGO Grievance Procedure: Pit-falls and Challenges Faced by the Musician and How to Avoid Them. The program was hosted by Roy at his church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pinellas Park.

On January 30, 2005, the Chapter hosted an
organ concert by University of Florida
organist Dr. Laura Ellis at First Baptist
Church in St. Petersburg.
On Tuesday evening, Nov. 9, Ron Burrichter and Dr. Brenda Smith gave a workshop on working with the issues of singers and choirs. At left, attendees participate in a breathing exercise. On September 21st, 2004, Chapter members gathered for our annual pot-luck dinner in the parish hall of St. Peter's Cathedral (Episcopal.) A lively discussion entitled Holy Wars followed the dinner, led by panelists Paul Dixon (St. Petersburg College,) Fonda Davies (Pass-a-Grille Community Church,) The Very Reverend Russell L. Johnson, Dean of the Cathedral, and Robert Todd, (Holy Family Catholic Church.)

On May 1, 2007, the St. Petersburg College
Madrigalians, under the direction of Dr. Vernon
Taranto, sang a choral concert after the chapter's
annual Evensong, held at Holy Family Catholic
Church. At left, Dr. Taranto rehearses the singers

Organ Spectacular Concert -- On Sunday, October 19, 2008, in conjunction with
AGO chapters around the nation, the St. Petersburg Chapter hosted an organ
concert featuring 7 local organists performing on the Aeolian-Skinner organ at
Christ United Methodist Church. The organists were joined by a flautist and
violinist at the event, which drew an enthusiastic crowd of about 200, showing
the organ in a variety of roles.
